What We Do

Rock Cancer Care

Ed and Mary*

Ed and Mary are friendly, fun-loving grandparents, both suffering from cancer. Ed has stage IV colon cancer, and Mary has tumors. Their health conditions have interfered with their ability to work and take care of maintenance for their home. Rock Cancer C.A.R.E. has provided companionship, groceries, funding to pay bills, prayers, and toys for their grandchildren. In March 2012, our volunteers assisted the family by pulling weeds, mowing the lawn, and mending a fence.

Sophia is a 21 year old female with two young children: 2 year old Ethan, and 11 month old Alliah. Rock Cancer C.A.R.E was introduced to this family after Sophia entered into hospice for end stage pancreatic cancer. Sophia’s dad had been taking time off work to care for his daughter, and the family was in a dire financial situation as a result. Our response was immediate: volunteers mobilized to donate food, toys, clothing, carpet cleaning, and other necessities. As a result, the family was able to focus on caring for Sophia in comfort and peace. Sophia passed away in March 2012. RCC has pledged to continue to send the family food.

If you would like to donate to Rock Cancer C.A.R.E. to help Sophia’s family, or other similar families, with food, clothing, and other needs, please click the donate bottom below. To make arrangements to drop off food, food gift cards, or new clothing items, please call 1.888.251.0620.

*Please note that all names have been changed to protect the families we serve.
